Dosing Calculator

The Biofilm Control Program Calculator allows you to run a variety of dosing scenarios with BCP® products and biocides.

• First, input your system volume (gallons) and blowdown (gallons per hour, GPH). The calculator automatically figures the blowdown gallons per week and holding time index (HTI). First, input your system volume and blowdown. You have the option of entering this information in Liters (L) and Liters per hour (L/hr) for small systems, or in cubic meters (m3) and cubic meters per hour (m3/hr) for medium-to-large systems. The calculator automatically calculates weekly blowdown (Liters per week or m3 per week) and holding time index (HTI).
• Next, enter the BCP product you are using and the type of program, either slug or continuous.
• Fill in the concentration, slug frequency (in the case of a slug dose program) and product cost per pound.
• Note, slug frequency is input as ‘slugs per week’; to enter a bi-weekly or once a month dose use a decimal. The amount of product (in lbs. and gallons per week) used in the treatment program, and the program’s cost per week will be automatically calculated.
• Fill in the oxidizing and non-oxidizing biocide sections in a similar fashion to the BCP products.
• You can enter multiple oxidizing and non-oxidizing biocides.
